What is EMR _ Electronic Medical Record and or Electronic Health Record (EHR)?
The
EMR is medical record keeping system. It is used to automate the paper medical record keeping system. In EMR all the patient related tasks are performed electronically instead of manually. Not only can electronic records not be misplaced as paper records can, but the information in the record is more accurate as well as legible
  Advantages of EMR
Only Free EMR in the Market (free electronic medical record - we feel it should be a free service to all)
»
The great advantage of electronic medical record keeping is the convenience of setting time limits for storage and archiving data.
»
When a record is set up in the computer at the time of registration, criteria can be set for purging it from the system.
»
It is also possible to set a time for each record to be removed from the storage and actually deleted.
»
These dates can be altered at any time or the computer will take care of it automatically.
»
Substantial improvements in patient care can be realized through the use of electronic medical records.
»
Electronic medical records provide the ability to capture, organize, and present relevant clinical information in a manner superior to the physical records currently in use.
»
A provider may be out of office, at home or even on a vacation, can monitor patient health and see patient records and recommends treatment
»
In addition, unlike the paper-based record, electronic medical records allow all caregivers to access the patient record at the same time.
  Aims of EMR
»
More efficient use of the restricted resources available for patient care.
»
Qualitative improvement of the service to the patient

The Components of the Electronic Medical Chart
Power Chart, and Discern Expert
»
Power Chart is the graphical user interfaces that caregiver's access at the clinical workstation. It is composed of two parts: the Organizer and the Chart. The Organizer allows the user to quickly check for new patient test results immediately after logging onto the system. In addition, it allows the user to indicate which test results they have reviewed. The Chart is the electronic form of the patient medical record. It is through this interface that the user can review clinical lab results, nurses' notes, physicians' notes, and patient demographics.  Nurses' notes entails all the data or notes that they encounter in patient care or gathering data and that is entered into the EMR section for Nurses Notes.
